Security Update: iOS 10
(2016-09-13)Apple has released iOS 10 for iPhone 5 and later, iPad 4th generation and later, iPod touch 6th generation and later. See Apple's iOS 10 page for what is new this version. The update also addresses the following security related issues:
- Assets (CVE-2016-4741): An attacker in a privileged network position may be able to block a device from receiving software updates
- GeoServices (CVE-2016-4719): An application may be able to read sensitive location information
- Keyboards (CVE-2016-4746): Keyboard auto correct suggestions may reveal sensitive information
- Mail (CVE-2016-4747): An attacker with a privileged network position may be able to intercept mail credentials
- Messages (CVE-2016-4740): Messages may be visible on a device that has not signed in to Messages
- Printing UIKit (CVE-2016-4749): An unencrypted document may be written to a temporary file when using AirPrint preview
- Sandbox Profiles (CVE-2016-4620): A malicious application may be able to determine whom a user is texting
